Nguyễn Văn Đông

Nguyễn Văn Đông is known as a portrait and children’s painter. He has been quite successful in Hà Nội despite only graduating from the University of Fine Arts for a few years.

Choosing oil paint and real-life drawing, Nguyễn Văn Đông creates works that are highly appreciated. The colours in his paintings are harmonious, tender, and close to Vietnamese life, addressing the topic of poor workers in society. He depicted a peaceful corner at noon, a piece of yard the children were playing in, or the children waiting by the sprawling land under the thunderstorm. He reveals the quiet innocence of the children in an excellent composition.
