Bode Olaniran was born in Bernin-Kebbi, Sokoto, Nigeria, in 1961, and graduated from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria as a painter in 1987.
While Olaniran was in Zaria, he studied under the painter and scholar Gani Odutokun.
Since graduating in 1988, he has studied the printmaking techniques of Dr. Bruce Onabrakpeya and is now a master printmaker. He has done several commissioners’ works in different cities in the United States of America.
“He is a Lagos-based member of the Society of Nigerian Artists (SNA).”
Olaniran is a member of the Otu Ewena Group of Artists and Printmakers Association Society of Nigeria’s founding team.
He attended the first Harmattan Workshop Series in 1998 and currently works as a consultant for the Bruce Onabrakpeya Foundation (BOF).
Olaniran attended the International Art and Culture Teachers Summer Workshop, organised by the Centre for African Studies, Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, USA, in collaboration with the National Gallery of Art (NGA), in Lagos.
His works are in the collection of the former President of the Federation Republic of Nigeria. (Chief Olusegun Obasanjo).
